Deep Canyon, Wanaka is New Zealand’s premier canyon guiding company. They have been running guided descents since 1994. Their guides are highly trained, very experienced and easy to get on with. Their equipment and procedures are of the highest standard and their commitment to safety is absolute. This allows Deep Canyon to run maximum adventure/maximum fun trips in wild and fantastic situations. Their focus is strongly on personal satisfaction and good humour.

Descend the spectacular canyons of the Matukituki valley. Explore your way through crystal pools and native forest. Plunge down water polished chutes, abseil down waterfalls. Climb, swim and float through a spectacular world of water sculpted rock and sparkling, crashing waterfalls.

Canyoning is a summertime ‘get wet’ activity. Deep Canyon's season runs from early November until late March / early April. Trips run rain or shine (unless it rains heaps!).

Deep Canyon provides all equipment (wetsuits, harnesses etc) and comprehensive instruction. You will learn to abseil. Bring a swimsuit and towel. Have a hearty breakfast - Deep Canyon will do the lunch. All trips run daily on a minimum of two people. Trip sizes are small and personal. Photos and video available. All trips depart from Wanaka between 7.30 - 9.15 a.m each day.
Canyoning departs from Adventure Wanaka 23 Dunmore Street. (One street back from the lake front opposite the New World supermarket downtown Wanaka).
Canyon trips return between 5.30 - 7.00 p.m. each day.
