Dolphin Seafaris is the leading professional eco tour operator and provider of watching and swimming with dolphins in the Bay of Plenty area. We are also the only Qualmark endorsed dolphin eco-tour operator in the Bay of Plenty.

Our vessel ‘Guardian’ is a purpose built, fully licensed 50 ft luxury super fast Cougar Catamaran, crewed by expert marine naturalists and dive masters who will ensure that your experience will be the highlight of your visit to the North Island of New Zealand. We operate daily trips at 7.30am from Tauranga & Mount Maunganui year round.

As the Bay of Plenty / Tauranga area is home to the biggest New Zealand Common Dolphin population, your chances of swimming and viewing the pods are the best anywhere. Some days literally hundreds of these beautiful creatures are frolicking, jumping and playing around our boat, making it the ultimate experience of a lifetime. We provide a welcome hot drink and continental breakfast snack upon arrival to the dock and prior to departure.

During your trip we often encounter pods of Orca’s (Killer Whales), Humpback & Pilot Whales, Turtles, Seals & other marine and bird life. Being lower to the water than most other boats, we can get you very, very close to the dolphins for the very best photographic opportunities where you can also often hear them communicating with each other. Whenever possible, we free swim with the dolphins or use our custom built fun bar to gently tow you along behind the boat whilst dozens of dolphins glide below and all around you.

We supply warm custom made wetsuits, snorkels and masks for those wishing to swim and interact with the dolphins and expert tuition from our friendly staff. If on a very rare occasion no dolphins are found, we will give you a totally free boarding pass to come back another day.
