Höglund Art Glass – International Glass Centre offers a unique experience to glass lovers and those interested in glass art.
The Centre is set within 7-acres of tranquil gardens, in the creative haven of the Nelson region, just 20-minutes drive from Nelson City. It is home to internationally renowned glass artists Ola Höglund and Marie Simberg-Höglund. Ola Höglund and Marie Simberg-Höglund create the stunning handblown art glass in striking colours and bold designs, that has earned them worldwide recognition and praise.Personal, informative and fascinating Guided Tours operate on a regular basis. You can watch the skilful work of the glass artists in the Glassblowing and Flamework (beadmaking) Studios and learn about the history of glass, what it is made of and about the tools used by the glass artists, from the permanent, educational and historical displays and exhibitions in the Glass Museum. The tour lasts 50 minutes.
The International Glass Centre is a unique 'Shopping Experience' in Nelson. At the recently opened 'Store' Höglund Art Glass may be purchased at up to 50% off factory quality pieces. The main gallery features a stunning selection of masterpieces. There is no charge for entry to the Galleries.
Höglund Art Glass – International Glass Centre now offers members of the public the opportunity to try their hand at glassblowing and glass beadmaking with classes rapidly filling for these ' no-experience-required' workshops and classes.
