Welcome to Skydive the Sounds, New Zealand's most central skydiving center.

Powered by nothing but gravity and freefalling at speeds in excess of 200kmph (120mph), skydiving is undoubtedly the most thrilling of human endeavors. Enjoy breathtaking views deep into the North and South Island from high above New Zealand's most central drop zone. It's hard to imagine a more dynamic venue for your first jump.

Due to our unique location and proximity to the North Island the views from altitude can offer up New Zealand 's best panoramas . From the Southern shores of Wellington to Mt Taranaki deep in the heart of the North Island, down to the mighty Kaikoura Mountains to the South and the stunning Sounds beneath us this is a spectacular location.

Skydive the Sounds’ instructional staff will introduce you to the equipment and teach you the basics of body flight and parachute control. Take the controls of your parachute and, in tandem, perform a series of loops, turns and stalls. Your tandem skydive with us will be a fully interactive learning experience as well as the thrill of a lifetime.

The actual jump from exit of the aircraft till landing is about 5 minutes but we ask that you allow at least a couple of hours for the entire experience. Group bookings may require more time depending on group size.

Choose your adventure...

1. Tandem skydive from our home base in Marlborough and enjoy amazing views across Cook Strait and deep into the North Island and South Islands. If its views you're after you simply can't get any more spectacular than New Zealand's most central skydiving center.

2. If you're in the North Island and feel the need for a more unique freefall adventure then take off from Wellington International Airport, climb to altitude across Cook Strait and Skydive into the South Island.

Every jumper receives a frame worthy Certificate of Achievement on completion of the jump.

"Once you have touched the skies and tasted the clouds nothing will ever be quite the same again."
