Below are just 3 of the numerous whitewater rafting options....
The Lower Rangitaiki offers 2 hours of enchanting introductory rafting suitable for first timers, families with young children and the mature adventuer, who want to experience a relaxing river rafting journey in the great outdoors. Commencing from the spectacular Aniwhenua Falls, this gentle introductory rafting takes you through sheer vertical gorges lined with native bush, pine forests and dramatic rock formations. These gorges are plentiful in cascading waterfalls and a rich variety of playful bird life.
The Kaituna River is one of the most popular whitewater runs in the country, with the distinction of being the world's highest commercially rafted waterfall. This exhilarating seven metre drop of raging, thundering whitewater is the ultimate rafting experience to be found in New Zealand. The Kaituna offers a forty-five minute trip over fourteen drops, including the seven metre waterfall, through the depths of a magnificent bush-lined gorge steeped in Maori history. The Kaituna is classified as a grade five river because of its seven metre waterfall, however it is suitable for all people who are reasonably comfortable in water.
The Rangitaiki River trip is an incredible two hour whitewater journey that Wet'n Wild runs every day. It is perfect trip for rafters of all confidence levels including those who have never rafted before. Featuring 14 km of exciting grade three and grade four rapids, it is liquid fun from top to bottom. Passing through spectacular native bush and planted forest, this river trip takes you away from the urban world into a special New Zealand environment of pristine beauty and peace. With plenty time of time in between rapids to enjoy the scenery and the company of your fellow rafters, it provides a true river journey experience. Trips include light refreshments consisting of fresh salad rolls, tea, coffee or juice, biscuits and fruit.
From mild liquid fun to white knuckle white water, we guarantee the 'Adventure of a Lifetime'.
