Wingspan Birds of Prey offers an interactive tour of birds of prey by New Zealand falconers. Learn about the art of falconry, visit the aviaries, and learn about these amazing birds through eduational displays.

Visitors to Wingspan are recommended at arrive at 1:30 pm. This allows the opportunity to view the museum and aviaries before the flight displays at 2pm. Tours may be tailored for your requirements.

Wingspan is located just ten minutes drive from the centre of Rotorua.

The staff at Wingspan are extremely helpful and pass on allot of information regarding the New Zealand Falcon. There aviaries contain a selection of New Zealand raptors ranging from the New Zealand Falcon, Morepork and Hawk. If you’re a birder of any kind or just want to see up close New Zealand raptors and see the art of falconry in action, this place is not to be missed.

The only bird of prey centre in New Zealand and featuring threatened falcon - close encounters of the bird kind indeed!!!
