Situated at Opononi, on Northland's beautiful Hokianga Harbour, House of Harmony Backpackers is a great place to relax and unwind.

The boat wharf is also close by, and they have fishing rods that you can use. Boats go across the harbour to the sandhills, where you can swim, or boogie board straight into the sea. There is good swimming at Opononi and Omapere around high tide.

The Twin Coast Discovery Highway is a round trip enabling tourists to enjoy both the west and East coasts of the Northland peninsula, and to compare the relatively “undeveloped” Kauri Coast and Hokianga with the commercial bustle of the Bay of Islands.

The backpackers can accommodate 15 people. It offers 2 double rooms, 1 twin and 2 shared dorm rooms.
