Rainbow Lodge Backpackers Retreat in beautiful Taupo is conveniemtly located on the fringe of the downtown shopping area. Taupo is on the shore of the country's largest lake with a backdrop of majestic volcanoes and mountain ranges.

All rooms are central heated. Twin, doubles and dorm rooms are supplied with cosy duvets. Doubles come with electric blankets. Standard rooms - singles, double, twin, triple or multi-share bunk rooms which have shared bathroom facilities. Ensuite rooms - double, twin or multi-share bunk rooms with their own bathrooms. Female only rooms are usually available on request.

You are welcome to bring your dog or cat as long as it overnights in your vehicle or our kennel. We have a shady, dog-proof yard available for daytime use. Sorry - no space for horses, elephants or anything of that general size. If you are not sure - give us a call.
