Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers hostel is situated on the edge of Lake Te Anau in a central location- 5 minutes walk will take you to cafes, supermarkets and the Department of Conservation [DOC].

Te Anau is the gateway town to the Fiordland World Heritage National Park and our guests are here to either visit one of the fiords or walk a track. Our staff offer expert, advice gained by their participation in many Fiordland activities and walks. If you want to kayak, cruise, heli-hike, 4 wheel motor-bike, day walk or mountain bike they can advise you of the options and book it for you.

If you are here to walk a track we will help you with every tiny detail needed to get you on the trail. If it is the first track you have walked and you are nervous about it we will go over your gear making sure you are fully equipped. While here, you are bound to meet others who have just finished the track or find someone to walk with. You can leave your excess baggage and car here free of charge.

After the track we have a luxury spa with massage jets to soothe those aching trampers' muscles.
