Yaping House was built in 1875, at foot of Mt Eden with great views overlooking One Tree Hill (made famous by U2). From Yaping House is only a short walk to the Mt Eden Village where there are great restaurants and bars. It also is conviently located only 1 bus stage from Auckland city centre.

Very close to Yaping House is foot/car access to Mt Eden summit. Mt Eden, is a dormant volcano, and offers spectacular views over Auckland and is a great picnic spot.
