Whether you want to go out for a casual meal, get together a group of friends for a celebration or hold a more formal function, our restaurant at The Honest Lawyer is the perfect spot.
We offer an extensive English-style menu with a twist of the Pacifica. We pride ourselves in sourcing fresh, local produce wherever possible, taking advantage of the wonderful array of produce our sunny climate yields.
Our menu changes regularly to give our cuisine a seasonal flavour such as Smoked Chicken Caesar Salad, Doubled braised Lamb Shanks and Beef Fillet with Yorkshire Pudding. Our popular house specialities, such as Steak & Guinness pie and Pork pie, are always available. Traditional meals such as fish and chips, steak or salmon also feature in our menu, and we also cater for vegetarians.
Why not choose a beverage to compliment your meal? We have a choice of 13 beers on tap, including imported beers from the UK such as Guinness, Bass or Kilkenny, and also stock the local Macs range. We have a full range of bottled beers and an extensive wine list comprising a selection of excellent local red and white wines.
Dine by the fire in the winter, or outside in the sun on our lawn overlooking the Waimea Estuary when the weather suits. Our dining room is available for small functions, or you can hire the Banquet Room for weddings or conferences.
The restaurant is open for breakfast from 7am. There is a snack menu available throughout the day, as well as lunch and dinner menus. Food is available until 9.30pm.

Great location! There's plenty of outdoor seating for when the sun is shining and it's got a nice old English pub interior for if it is cooler. The inside is crammed with interesting bits and bobs from the past, that adds to the charming character. We had lunch here today and even though it's mid winter, the sun was out and it was really lovely outside. The lunch menu is on the smallish side but there's still plenty of choice. We started by sharing the homemade pate, which was very good. I completely enjoyed my lunch, fish of the day, which was flounder served with baby potatoes and salad. My husband had the Salmon, and reported it was delicious. I would highly recommend the Honest Lawyer, especially if the sun is shining.
