A great Indian Restaurant in Nelson. You'll see why The Indian Cafe has won awards once you try their food...it is absolutely delicious!! This restaurant is popular with Nelson locals and the tourists also. They do deliveries which is a bonus and their prices are very reasonable too. I highly, highly recommend their Butter Chicken. It is the best Butter Chicken I have ever eaten. You'll definitely want to order a side of naan to soak up every last drop of the scrummy gravy. Another of my favourite dishes is the Malai Prawns which is a perfect combination of prawns in a creamy spiced coconut sauce...YUM!

Our party of 3 visited The Indian Cafe on a very busy Saturday night without a reservation. The great little covered courtyard was full but the friendly staff quickly made us feel very comfortable at the bar, and let us know that a courtyard table would be ready in a few minutes.
We were soon seated and snacking on a basket of poppadoms while enjoying the fragrant aromas of indian cuisine wofting from the kitchen.
The menu featured a great selection of dishes to satisfy any Indian food lover, from sizzling Tandoori platters to mouthwatering masala, korma and vindaloo curries.
Our mains all arrived together in little copper serving dishes, along with a large bowl of fluffy steamed basmati rice.
All were absolutely delicious! Chicken mushroom masala, Malai prawns and Navratan korma, a nice variety of meat, seafood and vegetable curries.
I recommend The Indian Cafe to everyone, if you love Indian food like me of course :)
10/10 across the board for Ambience, Food and Service.
